For the conversation before the contract

Know the standard. Ask better questions.

OCOB helps Brevard homeowners understand who stands behind a company, what members agree to represent, and what to confirm before work begins.

What the OCOB mark is meant to signal

The mark is selected for. It is never sold.

There is no payment, sponsorship package, advertising purchase, or listing fee that can make a company an OCOB member. Selection is based on the character of the owner, conduct, reputation, accountability, active owner involvement, and commitment to Brevard. Membership is not a project guarantee; it identifies a company that has agreed to be publicly associated with this standard.

01

No disappearing when plans change

Delays, limitations, and unexpected conditions should be explained promptly and plainly.

02

No selling beyond the company’s capability

Scope, materials, assumptions, and exclusions should reflect what the member can responsibly deliver.

03

The property is treated like someone’s home

Access, cleanup, communication, and the work area deserve care—not only the finished result.

04

The owner remains reachable and accountable

Concerns should reach a person with the authority and character to address them directly.

A stronger project conversation

Clarity up front creates confidence throughout the work.

Each property is different. A well-defined plan gives both the homeowner and contractor a shared understanding from the beginning.
